The physical and spiritual embodiment of recovery

Our Mission

We support people who are recovering from or dealing with the effects of trauma and addiction. We help others align their life with their highest purpose by developing a new daily practice that reconnects us to nature, the body, creativity, community, and wise and diverse perspectives on healing.

We are here to support you on your journey to healing your relationship with yourself, and in turn with the planet.

At Shea Tree Center we are bringing the joy of daily practice to those interested in recovery.   Founder Lisa Bennett Silverman shares her own recovery journey and practices that combine the principles of yoga, breath, meditation, expressive arts, and more.   Shea Tree Center offers the opportunity to join together in community with others who are working on healing.

Our experiences with addiction and trauma affect our relationship with our self. When we lose touch with our physical body we may be disconnected from our thoughts, dreams, and desires.  Through Daily Breath Work, Workshops, and Prakriti’s Way Training we help you reconnect with nature and your body and learn to care for your physical and spiritual wellbeing.  We offer daily guided meditations to help quiet the mind and calm the churning thoughts that impact our peace and recovery.

We also encourage creative expression through a series of practices including vision work, two-way prayer, and expressive writing exercises. In this community, we support one another in our journeys to recovery.

“Creating positive new habits and behaviors is essential to my long-term recovery. I had to replace my destructive actions with constructive daily practices for living.”

Always within reach - all are welcome.

Shea Tree Center is a not-for-profit organization.

When you choose to join one of our programs, you are asked to contribute based on your current financial situation.   Members of our community have started with us during early recovery, struggling to put their life back together financially and emotionally.  You are still welcome even if you are unable to contribute.

Other members who have experienced the gifts of recovery and now have the financial means to share will contribute in ways that allow Shea Tree Center to be available for all.

Extending Our Impact

Prakriti’s Way Teacher Training

Shea Tree Center offers Teacher’s Training on an annual basis. This comprehensive 12-month program is delivered primarily online so that no matter where you are in the world, you can become a certified instructor in the Prakriti’s Way Method. The program is self-directed and you can move at a pace that is comfortable for you.

Tuition for the program is based on your ability to pay. A majority of our students receive some sort of financial assistance. Donations allow us to train teachers from diverse backgrounds and geographies who can bring the teachings into their communities. As the number of teachers increases so too does the impact of Prakriti’s Way touch the lives of many.
